Public Transportation
Airlines (newly expanded seasonal flights are now being offered in to and out of Anchorage!)
Alaska State Ferries offer a relaxing way to journey to Alaska. Take in the gorgeous views of the Inside Passage from the ferry decks and rock the night away in a comfortable bed. Whether you plan on being a walk-on passenger or plan on bringing your vehicle, make sure to reserve your spot early as space fills up fast.
Buses are a little known method of coming to Alaska. Most people find it easier and cheaper to take the bus around Alaska once they are here, but few know that they can pick up a bus as far south as Vancouver, B.C. The trip may be long, but it definitely affords the chance to really SEE the country.
Driving the Al-Can or Alaska Route via the Cassier Highway is to take the last great American road trip. See the last frontier at your own pace with the sun and the wind as your only compass.
Trains- Ride the rails and a take a trip through history. It’s perhaps the best way to see the most of Denali NationalPark in one day. Two story observation cars, fine dining and private rooms available.
